Shape Engineering Supports Next Phase of Stonedale Estate Regeneration

Shape Consulting Engineers is proud to be supporting the next phase of the Stonedale Estate regeneration in Croxteth, Liverpool, a major development set to deliver 70 new homes for social rent. This follows the successful completion of 145 affordable homes in earlier phases of the scheme.

The latest phase has secured £8.4 million in funding from Homes England, alongside an additional £1.6 million from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Brownfield Land Fund. The funding marks a significant vote of confidence in the long-term vision for Croxteth — to reduce housing need, revitalise brownfield sites, and foster a greener, more connected community.

The development, led by Lovell Partnerships, will include a mix of houses, bungalows, and apartments designed for social rent. Shape Consulting Engineers is providing full civil and structural engineering support, helping to bring high-quality, affordable housing to the area through robust, efficient, and sustainable design solutions.

Barry Wilson, Managing Director at Shape, commented:
“We’re delighted to be involved in the regeneration of the Stonedale Estate. These types of projects demonstrate how strong partnerships and thoughtful design can help transform communities. It’s a privilege to play our part.”

The regeneration of Stonedale is a key part of the wider placemaking strategy for North Liverpool, combining local investment, modern infrastructure, and accessible housing to meet long-term social and environmental goals.
